The Nixons Announce New EP ‘Four Zero Five’

February 7, 2025

Alternative rock band The Nixons announce their upcoming EP, Four Zero Five. The name refers to the area code in Oklahoma where the band formed. The EP is slated for release on March 28, 2025.

This 5-song collection opens with two new rocking tunes: “Dreams Of” and “Rust.”

Frontman Zac Maloy says, “The single ‘Dreams Of’ tells the story of an infamous murder that happened to a young woman from my small hometown in Ada, OK. Unfortunately, this dark tragedy ended with corruption in the system and an innocent man taking the fall, destroying lives on both sides. The song features a blend of melodic but aggressive vocals, heavy drums, a ferocious bass, and a whirling dervish of guitars that help tell the twisted story through the music.”

In addition to these new tracks, Four Zero Five features a heavier cover of “The Seeker” by The Who. This fan favorite has always been popular at live shows. The Nixons also reimagined “December,” which originates from their second MCA Records release in 1996. This rendition of the song adds some elements to frame the story in a more holiday centric way. The EP closes with a new version of “Secret,” a quiet but raw ballad which originally appeared on the band’s very first release in the early 1990s.

The Nixons want to embrace the fact that they’re a bona fide, loud ‘90s rock band that loves to turn the amps up and truly let loose. Four Zero Five honors the band’s history while benefiting from modern production and song writing elements that frontman Zac Maloy has developed over the years writing with bands like Shinedown, Halestorm and more.
